Denver Produces a Rowdy Country Combo
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- New band "Rowdy Country Combo" is keeping Denver’s tradition as a frontier to the West alive from a musical perspective. Since the Denver Pacific Railway became integral to the first transcontinental rail link between the east and west coasts of America, the city has been setting the standard as a frontier in many social and political arenas. It is no wonder that the demand for Americana music thrives in the area. Most of the best crowd-drawing acts for this genre, however, originate from outside of the region.
Examples of the Rocky Mountain region's demand for Country/Americana music include acts such as the North Carolina-based, Avett Brothers, who sold out Denver's Red Rocks three consecutive nights in July 2015. Nashville-based, Sturgill Simpson, a new-authentic Country artist, has taken the nation (and area) by storm with a recent Red Rocks debut, and consecutive sell-out shows at smaller, local venues. Any of the time-tested Country greats, such as Merle Haggard, still pull large crowds in the Rock Mountain region. These crowd generally give "whistles and hollers" of adoration, continuously, for the entire show. Even tribute acts to Country legends, such as San Diego-based Cashed Out, or the Montana-based Cold Hard Cash Show sell local venues out.
The Rowdy Country Combo has formed to fulfill this demand, and represent Denver as a city that produces high quality, authentic Country/Americana music. The band's concert performances are designed to recreate a scene of friends or family gathered around a piano in an old country house or barn to play music. Their stage set includes an almost theatrical back drop, with performers Richard Zemcik on piano, Alex and Don Epstein on guitar and drums. The band gears performances toward the outlaw Country genre that was popularized in the 1970's, but they include a substantial mix of the new-authentic Country that is fueling a renaissance for the genre. Expect to hear a lot of upbeat, foot-stomping, rowdy Country at their shows, including songs by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Hank III, Merle Haggard, as well as music by the new-authentic Country pioneers such as Sturgill Simpson.
