Gala recognition was based excellence in customer service, net sales, and outstanding initiative.
The Great Gatsby theme took center stage for this year's event. Winners of The DestiDiamond Award, a prestigious accolade awarded to the company’s top 10 Certified Destination Wedding Specialists, based on their net contribution to and bookings with DWTG. The 2014 DestiDiamond Awards went to: Kristi Huss, Barbara Hylton, Cori Robson, Lisa Johnson, Debbie Ryan, Brittany Schiffler, Christine Sholander, Michele Thornburg, Marcia Wallach and Rene Wills. The company’s 11-20 Certified Destination Wedding Specialists were awarded The DestiRuby Award and went to: Shannon Aaronson, Sonia Estrada, Amarjit Keshav, Debbie Johnson, Kimberly Koehn, Diane Monk, Shelli Nornes, Joan Twohie, Elizabeth “Cookie” Randall and Pam Wieder-Bier.
The award for Top US Specialist went to Rene Wills, while Cori Robson took home the Top Canadian Specialist award. The Andrea Markus-O’Grady Award for exemplary commitment to couples and their guests went to Debbie Ryan. Lisa Smith, who completed training in October of 2013, received the Rising Star Award for a new Certified Destination Wedding Specialist with outstanding initiative, positive attitude, and excellence in customer service.
New awards this year included a Mentor Award, given to a Certified Destination Wedding Specialist who mentored new Specialists. This award was given to Brittany Schiffler. Additionally, The Preferred Partner Award, given to the top five Certified Destination Wedding Specialists who most successfully booked the company’s preferred chains of hotels, was given to Barbara Hylton, Cori Robson, Brittany Schiffler, Christine Sholander and Rene Wills. There was also an award given to the top two Canadian Certified Destination Wedding Specialists and top 10 U.S. Certified Destination Wedding Specialists, based on selling the most number of wedding groups during a defined period of time. The Canadian winners were Nikki Hume and Leslie Morris. From the U.S., Shari Dickinson, Barbara Hylton, Debbie Johnson, Lisa Johnson, Christine Kennedy, Susan Pine, Elizabeth “Cookie” Randall, Brittany Schiffler, Christine Sholander and Marcia Wallach were the winners.
