Detroit Style Pizza Co. Introduces Mediterranean Gyro Pizza
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- Detroit Style Pizza Co. today introduced its new Mediterranean Gyro Pizza, which features traditional Greek ingredients on World Champion Pizza Maker Shawn Randazzo's signature Detroit Style Pizza crust. The Mediterranean Gyro Pizza will be available for a limited time at Detroit Style Pizza Co.'s three Metro Detroit locations: Roseville, St. Clair Shores and Clinton Township.
Detroit Style Pizza Co. will additionally offer its new Mediterranean Gyro Sub, featuring gyro meat, red onions, sliced tomatoes, traditional tzatziki sauce and a brick/mozzarella cheese blend on an oven-baked sub bun.
The Detroit Style Pizza Co. Mediterranean Gyro Pizza is made from Randazzo's award-winning dough, which is pressed into a well-seasoned square steel pan – similar to the pans once used as parts trays by Detroit's automotive manufacturers. The dough is sprinkled with a blend of brick and mozzarella cheeses, then topped with fresh gyro (lamb) meat, red onions and sliced tomatoes. The pizza is then deck oven baked and the cheeses caramelize to the crust, which comes out of the oven golden brown and crispy on the outside, light and airy on the inside. Finally, traditional tzatziki sauce is placed on top of the pizza after baking.
