DeVIL-TECH’S 8(a) Certification Opens the Door for Large Federal Contracts with Help of SBA
STAFFORD, Va. (PRWEB) January 11, 2019 -- DeVilliers Technology Solutions LLC (DeVil-Tech), a systems and software engineering company, is honored to be certified as a participant in the Small Business Association (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program. The certification comes after the SBA evaluated the minority and service-disabled Veteran-owned company on several factors including its financial records, business leadership, moral character, and its ability to succeed.
The federal government’s goal is to award at least five percent of all federal contracting dollars to small disadvantaged businesses each year and the 8(a) BD program is one way to achieve that goal. To level the playing field for small businesses, the government limits competition for certain contracts to small businesses. Those contracts are called “small business set-asides,” and they help small businesses compete for and win federal contracts. According to a report issued by the Congressional Research Service, a total of 3,421 8(a) firms were awarded more than $27.1 billion in federal contracts in the 2017 fiscal year.
