In this endeavor, dicentra assisted with the substantiation of new health claims relating to the effect of TRU NIAGEN® on increasing blood NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) levels which was a key-finding in human studies. In particular, "clinically proven" claims were successfully obtained for TRU NIAGEN®, with dicentra acting as a liaison with Health Canada, alongside ChromaDex's scientific experts.

dicentra's predominant role was to demonstrate that the proposed health claims met Health Canada's evidence requirements and were backed by rigorous clinical research and sound science. ChromaDex is one of two companies in Canada currently marketing NIAGEN®, also known as nicotinamide riboside, a member of the vitamin B3 family, which in January 2020 the European Commission listed as an authorized novel food ingredient.
