Harlan W. Robins, a member in the firm's Columbus office, has been appointed director of the Transactions Division. The Transactions Division is comprised of six sub-groups: Real Estate, Real Estate Finance, Banking, Corporate/M&A, Environmental and Municipal Finance, representing approximately 140 attorneys across the firm. Personally, Mr. Robins focuses his practice on real estate finance, development & land use, acquisitions & dispositions, and banking & financial services. He represents lenders in complex, multi-state workouts, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure and foreclosure of real estate-secured loans, loan modifications and loan origination for permanent and construction financings. Mr. Robins received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Emory University School of Law.
Thomas G. McNeill, a member in the firm's Detroit office, has been appointed director of the Litigation Division. With more than 30 years of trial, litigation and arbitration experience, he focuses his practice on middle market business cases, automotive supply disputes and complex financial litigation, including in the areas of securities, antitrust, banking, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and financial statement accounting. Mr. McNeill received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the University of Virginia.
Philip E. Rettig, a member in the firm's Troy office, has been appointed director of the Intellectual Property Division. He focuses his practice on all aspects of patent, trademark, trade secret and licensing matters as well as counseling clients in strategic portfolio management. He concentrates his practice on obtaining and enforcing patents, trademarks and copyrights for clients in various fields, with a particular emphasis in the automotive industry. Mr. Rettig received his B.S.M.E. from Kettering University and his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.
Cynthia A. Moore, a member in the firm's Troy office, has been appointed director of the Regulatory-Administration Division. She is a national expert on fringe benefit plans and is counsel to numerous plan sponsors in the design and administration of qualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. She also counsels companies and compensation committees on the tax, ERISA, and securities law aspects of executive compensation programs, such as supplemental executive retirement plans, stock option plans, restricted stock plans, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. Ms. Moore received her B.A. from Alma College and her J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.
Stephen E. Richman, a member in the firm's Phoenix office, has been appointed director of the Industry Practices Division. He focuses his practice in all phases of construction law, both commercial and residential. He frequently drafts and negotiates construction contracts for owners and general contractors as well as routinely handles commercial construction disputes involving improper design, delays, loss of productivity, and change orders. Mr. Richman received his J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of Law.
