Digital Tails Group launches AI Media Generation in CARVIDO's 3D configurator, creating a high-fidelity visualization of each configured wardrobe in a realistic interior in under 80 seconds
HOBOKEN, N.J., Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Digital Tails Group (DTG) has launched AI Media Generation in the 3D configurator it built for CARVIDO, a German maker of custom built-in wardrobes. Customers who design a wardrobe online can now see their exact configuration in a high-fidelity interior visualization in under 80 seconds. Before the launch, each room visualization took CARVIDO's interior designers two to three hours of manual work.
A made-to-measure product needs context
CARVIDO customers design their built-in wardrobes down to the millimeter using a configurator developed by DTG based on CARVIDO's specifications and requirements. The configurator turns each decision about layout, internal sections, materials, handles and finish into an accurate 3D model with a direct path to purchase.
Precision answers one of the buyer's questions. A bigger one comes later: how will it look at home? A wardrobe worth several thousand euros has to feel right in the room, and a technical 3D model can't give a buyer that feeling. For years, CARVIDO's interior designers did that work by hand. For each request, they rebuilt the configuration in CAD, modeled a room around it and rendered the scene, and many customers made their decision only after they saw those visuals.
"Our designers spent two to three hours on each room visualization. Now the AI tool creates one in about 80 seconds, and it shows the exact wardrobe our customer configured, in a home setting," says Lukas Kaiser of CARVIDO.
How AI Media Generation works
At the core of AI Media Generation is one principle: the wardrobe the customer configured stays the fixed reference throughout the process. Once a customer asks to see their design in a room, the system exports the 3D model with its full configuration data, including dimensions, section layouts, edge trims, handles and material finishes. A dedicated 3D engine renders the wardrobe in a scale-accurate scene, with the camera set and the wardrobe's materials, glass reflections and internal sections in place.
Generative AI receives that image together with automated scene instructions that define the room type, style, daylight and a curated set of furnishings, so the wardrobe stays the focus of the composition. The AI then builds the space around it, adding walls, flooring, ceiling and decor, with the wardrobe's structure, finishes and proportions as its guide.
Under 80 seconds later, the high-fidelity visualization appears in the configurator and on a product page the customer can share. The GPU infrastructure behind the process starts only when someone requests a render, and every image is saved to its configuration code, so anyone who configures the same wardrobe again gets the stored visual right away, with no new processing and no extra cost.
Built around the real product
General image generators work from text prompts or photos, and they can alter a product's dimensions, handles or layout. For a made-to-measure wardrobe, the image has to match what the factory will build. DTG's approach takes the product geometry directly from the configurator data, so the visual and the production specification describe the same wardrobe.
"We designed the architecture so the customer's product data stays the source of truth at every step. On-demand GPU rendering and result caching keep the system fast and cost-efficient, and the same approach works for other configurable products," says Sergei Svistunov, CTO at DTG.
What changes for CARVIDO
- High-fidelity room visualizations take under 80 seconds, compared with two to three hours of designer work.
- Every customer who configures a wardrobe can see it in context early in the online buying journey.
- CARVIDO's designers have more time for consultations and space planning.
- Real customer configurations provide visual assets for product pages, sales conversations and marketing.
- GPU capacity runs only when someone requests a render, and stored images avoid repeat costs.
