A partnership between RANDA Solutions and Digital Promise charts a course for teachers to collect verifiable credentials as they earn badges and micro-credentials and store them in a secure digital wallet.

Empower teachers to do what they do best. Teach.

“We have always valued developing a micro-credential ecosystem that puts educators in the driver’s seat of their own learning,” said Odelia Younge.

RANDA Solutions, a pioneer in education data and workflow software, announces today a new partnership with education nonprofit Digital Promise, a leader in providing professional learning opportunities for educators, including more than 500 micro-credentials. Expanding on the ecosystem created around The Lifelong Learner Project, Powered by Teachers, Digital Promise brings another entry point for teachers to control their credentials and certifications. Digital Promise already provides a platform where educators can earn micro-credentials that become part of their Badgr backpack; this partnership enables those credentials to be packaged in the universal Teacher Wallet comprising more than 18 different data verticals in a teacher's practice portfolio. Providing a consolidated location for teachers allows them to maximize their opportunities to leverage their skills and experience with states and districts to impact student learning.

"Teacher Wallet allows teachers to have the freedom they need to maximize their impact opportunities with students in our new world order spanning beyond a single four wall building," says Marty Reed, CEO and Futurist of RANDA. “Our partnership with Digital Promise guarantees a teacher’s commitment to continued growth will be represented alongside other credentials and experience.”

“We have always valued developing a micro-credential ecosystem that puts educators in the driver’s seat of their own learning,” said Odelia Younge, Director of Micro-credentials at Digital Promise. “Partnering with RANDA will continue to expand opportunities for educators on our platform to be recognized for the skills they learn throughout their careers and allow them to easily demonstrate what they have learned.”

The Lifelong Learner Project, Powered by Teachers, is an ecosystem-first approach empowering teachers and freeing their data from the myriad of data silos where this information lives today. Multiple entry points for teachers to establish a Wallet, multiple consumers of this data as teachers decide to share, can continue to evolve and mature a teacher’s opportunity to impact student outcomes.

About Digital Promise
Digital Promise was created with the mission to accelerate innovation in education to improve opportunities to learn. All people at every stage of their lives should have access to learning experiences that help them acquire the knowledge and skills they need to thrive and continuously learn in an ever-changing world. When all learners have equitable access to learning technology, when everyone participates, and when everyone learns, we all benefit from a more engaged, informed and just society. Since 2014, Digital Promise has been building an innovative ecosystem of micro-credentials. We offer more than 550 competency-based micro-credentials on a wide range of research-backed skills. These micro-credentials are developed, assessed, and awarded by more than 60 partner organizations, ranging from institutes of higher education to non-profit organizations.

For 20 years, RANDA has provided teacher effectiveness systems to state level systems. They continue to mature their platforms to meet the needs of modern education systems. Solutions include roster verification, student claiming, observation and evaluation, licensure, salary, and the creation of an overall teacher portfolio. Currently RANDA platforms impact approximately 10% of the teaching population in the United States. RANDA wants to grow its ability to solve teacher frustrations. “We know teachers want to make a difference for as many students as possible. Providing this new functionality to existing platforms allows them to do just that,” says Reed.
