ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA), a national leader in adaptive sports, announced today a national partnership with Citi through 2020 to help bring adaptive sports opportunities to people with disabilities in communities across the country.
Citi will provide funding to local DSUSA chapters and U.S. employees of Citi will volunteer to support community-based adaptive sports programs in 14 communities located in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Ohio and Texas.
DSUSA was founded in 1967 and serves 60,000 individuals with disabilities each year. It offers programming in more than 50 adaptive sports through a nationwide network of 140 chapters in 43 states. As just one example, DSUSA runs Warfighter Sports, a program dedicated to serving wounded U.S. service members and veterans. Since 2003, Warfighter Sports has helped more than 15,000 wounded warriors and their families.
Individuals participating in DSUSA programming enjoy high levels of health, happiness and employment, according to an independent survey by Harris Interactive.
