LONDON, Ky., Oct. 27, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A contributing columnist for a local newspaper, Connie L. Taylor collected his articles on the history of plants to create his book "Plant Folklore: 120 Stories" (published by Archway Publishing). Published in 2018, the author is embarking on a new marketing campaign to promote his book more widely.
Sharing each plant's story, covering 120 species, the book talks about how the plants found across the U.S., and especially in Appalachia, were used previously and how some are still today. "Plant Folklore" includes both myths and truths about plants people see in various locations today that they might take for granted. The book gives readers outdoor enthusiasts and budding naturalists tips and advice they can use to identify blooms and collect wildflower seeds or plants with respect and care
"I want (readers) to see how our ancestors used plants to flavor their gum, drinks and other foods and what role it played in our lives," Taylor says, adding that his book "tells how important plants were in the past."
