NEW YORK, April 24, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Thomas P. Dimitroff traces the story of The Houghtons, who in five generations built a glass-making business into a Fortune 500 company, in his new historical biography, "The Houghtons of Corning, New York: Five Generations of Brilliance" (published by Archway Publishing).
Amory Houghton, a New England businessman moved his small glass making business to Corning, New York, in 1868. Since that time five successive generations of the Houghton family built this firm into a Fortune 500 high tech company of today. The author argues that in so doing, the Houghtons have shown great loyalty to their community, their employees and their customers.
By demonstrating the successes generated by high standards and values, Dimitroff hopes his book helps readers take away "A new appreciation of the Houghtons and their contributions to the world."
