Discussing Remediation at Cognition’s User Conference
LEXINGTON, Mass. (PRWEB) August 28, 2018 -- Cognition Corporation®, a software company specializing in medical device compliance and commercialization, is announcing the full lineup of talks for NAVIGATE2018.
Ryan Ward, Director of Engineering at Zimmer Biomet, has been announced as a speaker for NAVIGATE2018, Cognition’s annual user conference. An experienced engineer and manager with Zimmer Biomet for almost 15 years, Mr. Ward will focus his talk about how his organization leverages the Cognition Cockpit® Platform in their remediation projects.
“Mr. Ward is a good friend of Cognition, and what he and Zimmer Biomet have been doing with our products and services is really incredible,” says David Cronin, CEO of Cognition Corporation. “We invited him to speak on what they’ve been up to with Cockpit and how that’s affecting their management of products throughout their lifecycles.
Remediation projects, whether prompted internally or by FDA, are ultimately about patient safety. Inspections help ensure the quality of your development process and the design features of your medical device, helping to reduce risk to users and patients. Mr. Ward will focus his talk on these concerns and how to approach remediation with a risk management mindset.
Through this talk, Mr. Ward will show how Zimmer Biomet leverages Cockpit’s risk management and design controls features in their device remediations. By exploring how the platform can be used to connect risk line items and product specifications, Mr. Ward will discuss how these capabilities can help organizations reduce time, streamline remediation projects, and better control risk.
“Oftentimes, when we talk about risk management in life science industries, it’s restricted to the lens of premarket development,” says Mr. Cronin. “Cockpit is well-suited to help teams in that realm. However, Cockpit’s a lot more flexible than that narrow view, and Mr. Ward’s talk will help attendees see what’s possible within the platform throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.”
