Cornerstone Recovery Center’s Reverend Charlotte Day to Speak at NOPE Candle Light Vigil in Ft. Lauderdale about the ‘Disease of Addiction’
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) October 16, 2014 -- Cornerstone Recovery Center will be participating in the NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention & Education) Candle Light Vigil in Ft. Lauderdale on October 18, 2014. The purpose of this event is to help remove the stigma associated with addiction, bring hope to those that are currently struggling with addiction, and remember those lost to the disease of addiction. Cornerstone’s Christian Recovery Program Director, Reverend Charlotte Day, has been invited to be a keynote speaker on the topic ‘The Disease of Addiction’ and sing ‘Amazing Grace’ at the event.
The NOPE National Candle Light Vigil is held annually during Red Ribbon Week to bring communities together to reduce the stigma associated with addiction so those suffering from the disease will be empowered to seek help. The National Drug Czar, Acting Director Michael Botticelli from the Office of National Drug Control Policy will be delivering the National keynote address. There will be a featured memorial wall and a video to shed light and highlight those individuals who have perished as a direct result of the disease of addiction. The NOPE Task Force openly invites all to participate in the Candle Light Vigil event.
Cornerstone’s Christian Recovery Program Director, Reverend Charlotte Day, will be the keynote speaker at the NOPE Candle Light Vigil event in Ft. Lauderdale. Her address will be on the topic ‘The Disease of Addiction’. She has also been asked to sing ‘Amazing Grace’. Her keynote address and her inspirational voice are sure to bring hope and grace to attendees. Reverend Day expresses her joy at being chosen to speak and sing at this event, “I am honored to be able to share my voice and my inspiration at the NOPE Candle Light Vigil. The Candle Light Vigil will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Gracepoint Church in Ft. Lauderdale. The reception is at 6:30pm and the vigil begins at 7:00pm. It is open for anyone to attend what is sure to be a memorable event that will help spread awareness, education, and hope for those struggling with addiction.
