Distinguished Clowns March to Make a Difference in the 39th Annual Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade

ATLANTA, Dec. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Saturday, December 7th, families gathered in Midtown Atlanta for a spectacle of dancers, floats, and drumlines. The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade, now in its 39th year, was both a celebration of the season and chance to raise awareness for children in advanced pediatric care.

Not lost in the festivities was a group of clowns passing out toys and candy to children along the parade route. The Distinguished Clowns Corps, a group of Atlanta business executives and community leaders, are a fixture in the Children's Christmas Parade, having participated in the event since 1991. During that time, the Distinguished Clowns have raised over $1.3 million to support children's healthcare.

"The Children's Christmas Parade is an event that's all about the kids," said Mark Herbert, Distinguished Clown and President and CEO of Incentive Solutions. "We begin the day early. After we get dressed and put on our makeup, we go and visit the children at the hospital before marching in the parade. It means a lot being able to make a kid smile while they're in the hospital."
