Recently, Diversified managed the technical aspects of the pre-staging and setup of the exhibit, located at the Riedel Communications' headquarters in Wuppertal, Germany. From the United States, Diversified led the technical planning for the exhibit's demonstration areas and their associated infrastructure, developing detailed design and technical documentation of all the exhibit layouts; prepared the system mechanics, power and orchestrating physical materials; and assisted the various technology and marketing representatives throughout the exhibit and demonstration design.
Diversified then traveled to Germany for a week where the integration team assembled and cabled more than 185 individual ST 2110-based components into 11 equipment racks, readying them for technical qualification and demonstration. Once the 50+ participants were qualified and commissioned, Diversified then disassembled, packaged and readied the systems for shipment to IBC. At IBC, Diversified will re-assemble the systems for display in the dedicated IP Showcase environment in the IBC exhibition hall.
The IP Showcase has been a feature at major industry trade shows since IBC2016 and has been instrumental in helping the industry to galvanize behind the standards-based approach to IP. The event is hosted by major technical and standards organizations within the broadcast industry including Audio Engineering Society (AES), Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers® (SMPTE®), and Video Services Forum (VSF). Diversified has been the lead technical systems integrator for the IBC and NAB IP Showcases since 2017.
Industry-leading vendors and broadcasters will gather at the IP Showcase to provide instructional and case study presentations and an array of IP-based product demonstrations highlighting the benefits of, and momentum behind, the broadcast industry's move to standards-based IP infrastructure for real-time professional media applications. The IP Showcase will feature equipment displays and product demonstrations that emphasize everything industry vendors have achieved in support of IP standards and specifications. Meanwhile, the IP Showcase Theatre will be the destination for educational presentations, a vital element as the industry progresses through the phases of IP adoption.
