Leading the way, are Eric Egeland and Matt Dorcas, Partners of Capacity Marketing, who not only spend most of their time forming and building business relationships to grow their company, but to also give back to the community. One organization, Capacity Marketing supports is the Great Guys event, established in 2016 to honor four "Great Guys" who have made a significant impact in helping others in need. Past honorees included Joe Belsito, Jimmy Smith, Ed Devitt and Pete Mathieu, who were profoundly instrumental in helping to launch Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center (HVCRC) with the mission to be the voice of advocacy and support for the Hudson Valley community of people living with and affected by cancer. The center provides educational resources and support services to improve the quality of life through all stages of the cancer journey. With their continued support, they have enabled the HVCRC to make the cancer journey easier for over 1,300 patients and their families in the Hudson Valley.
This year, the Great Guys event will honor Mike Oates, President and CEO of Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC); Kean Farsetta of Holt Construction; Ira Gold of Sullivan County Fire Protection and Eric Maldonado, co-owner of multiple Verizon Wireless Zone stores. The event will be held at West Hills Country Club, located at 121 Golf Links Road, Middletown, N.Y. 10940 on Monday, June 6, 2019 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Both Matt and Eric also serve on the board of the Sullivan County Economic Development Association. "Many may not think of economic development as giving back to the community, but if it were not for EDAs, taxes would be higher, there would be less jobs, and the daily services and infrastructure we expect, might not exist without our local EDA," said Eric Egeland, Partner of Capacity Marketing.
