Doing What We Can - Bewley Irish Imports Gives Back to the Community
In an effort to help those in need, Bewley Irish Imports, an importer and wholesale distributor of specialty foods and giftware from Ireland, has donated 25,242 lbs. of food to various food banks, service organizations, and essential workers across the United States during the first half of 2020.
WEST CHESTER, Pa., Aug. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In an effort to help those in need, Bewley Irish Imports, an importer and wholesale distributor of specialty foods and giftware from Ireland, has donated 25,242 lbs. of food to various food banks, service organizations, and essential workers across the United States during the first half of 2020.
"It is very important to us to help people who are in need, and to give back to our community," Ambarish Patel, owner of Bewley Irish Imports, stated. "We also do what we can to support other local businesses as well, especially in these uncertain times."
South Jersey Food Bank, West Chester Food Bank, Philabundance, Food Connect, and 16 churches, service organizations, senior centers, veterans centers and community centers located in the heart of Philadelphia have all been recipients of food donations. Free boxes of Butlers chocolate bars were also dropped off at local restaurants as an incentive to help get customers through their doors.
"Restaurants are navigating this health crisis as best they can, and we thought perhaps offering their patrons free chocolate would help. Who doesn't want free chocolate?" Ambarish added, smiling. "We are all in this together."
Bewley Irish Imports also showed their support for essential workers by sending free Butlers Chocolates to nurses and healthcare workers all across the United States through an awareness campaign on social media.
"We are going to continue to do what we can to give back, to help those in need. Hopefully we can make a difference, and make someone's day just a bit brighter in doing so," Ambarish stated.
In additional to Butlers chocolates, additional Irish-made products such as Bewley teas and coffees, Flahavan's oatmeal and porridge, and an assortment of Irish-made condiments have all been distributed during the COVID-19 crisis.
