NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- DOROT hosts its annual Rosh Hashanah Package delivery on Sunday, September 22nd at 10 am. This year we have three locations from which more than 700 volunteers will be heading out to visit our seniors.
- The Upper West Side at DOROT, 171 West 85th Street
- The Upper East Side, at Central Synagogue 123 East 55st Street
- & Westchester at Young Israel of Scarsdale 1313 Weaver Street, Scarsdale, NY
Volunteers of all ages will visit with older adults and share stories. Package deliveries bring companionship and nourishment to isolated older adults, just as DOROT has been doing for 40 years.
A senior shared the following with a DOROT staff member: "Thank you very much for my visitors, Maddie and her colleague…With virtually no visitors at this stage of life, the program relieves the loneliness caused by friends and relatives passing away."
DOROT's Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery occurs annually, as do other seasonal package deliveries. We bring vital services to seniors at moments when their loneliness may be exacerbated by having to spend holidays alone or by not having had a visitor in a while.
