(PRWEB) May 18, 2017 -- The Eisner Foundation awards the prize to organizations that use intergenerational programming to “bring about positive and lasting changes in the community.” For the past 41 years, DOROT’s mission has been to bring the generations together to alleviate social isolation among older adults.
"DOROT is incredibly grateful to the Eisner Foundation for their recognition of the importance of connecting the generations,” said Mark Meridy, the Executive Director of DOROT at the award ceremony. “DOROT’s commitment to excellence and compassionate care is what enables us to make a difference in the quality of life of the young and old alike. We are proud to embrace those values as we continue to bring the generations together in an effort to combat the devastating consequences of social isolation."
Trent Stamp, the CEO of the Eisner Foundation added that, "DOROT has been on the forefront of intergenerational excellence for four decades. We’re proud to add them to an exemplary group of Eisner Prize winners, and it is our hope that through the Eisner Prize, DOROT’s creative approach to intergenerational solutions will inspire others to bring this creativity to their own communities."
