NEW YORK (PRWEB) June 01, 2018 -- On May 16, DOROT welcomed nearly 200 guests to our 42nd Annual Spring Benefit at The Museum of the City of New York. The event honored Harriet and Joel Shaiman for their steadfast support and commitment for over 20 years as DOROT volunteers and leaders. Roz Chast, New Yorker cartoonist and author, used her signature wit to captivate attendees with stories of her aging parents and life growing up in New York City. We proudly recognized the graduating seniors of Next Generation, DOROT’s Teen Leadership Council, for their dedication to building a better world for older adults.
“There are thousands of seniors and volunteers who feel the impact of DOROT’s work, and who are engaged and feel a sense of purpose thanks to their connection with DOROT,” shared Donna Jakubovitz, DOROT Board President. Added Harriet Shaiman, “ I thank DOROT for the opportunities it has afforded to me that have enabled me to grow both personally and as a lay leader. So while we thank you for honoring our family tonight, it is truly our honor to be a part of DOROT."
