Downing Street Playgroup Celebrates Play with a New Imagination Playground
New York, New York (PRWEB) July 18, 2015 -- Downing Street Playgroup in New York, NY is the newest recipient of an Imagination Playground and Play Associate Training (valued at over $7500)! The cooperative preschool for 2-4 year-olds, partnered with their center families and community to garner the most votes in the Imagination Playground VOTE for Play program, more than any of the other thousands of schools and organizations across the United States that participated.
Founded in 1969, the Downing Street Playgroup is a cooperative preschool located in NYC’s West Village. They believe education should be a partnership between families and educators, so they are always looking for ways for their families to be involved. That family involvement served them well as they led a campaign to bring the Imagination Playground Blocks to the children in the cooperative.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to have an outstanding network of families, both past and present. We challenged our families to “Get your 20” votes by rallying friends, family members and coworkers on a daily basis. We are so happy our community was empowered by this common goal and we know the Imagination Playground blocks will make a huge impact on our children’s learning at Downing Street Playgroup for many years to come,” shared Gloria Chew, parent coordinator at Downing Street Playgroup.
Nancy McAuliffe, Director at Downing Street Playgroup, added, “We are overjoyed with gratitude, joy and excitement at the thought of the endless creations and ideas the children will generate “working” with their Imagination Playground blocks!”
Imagination Playground President, Dave Krishock offered his congratulations to all the participants and said, “We are amazed at the community spirit that supports schools and organizations in their quest to bring an Imagination Playground to their children. That spirit drives us, as an organization, to continue these types of promotions that bring our Big Blue Blocks to children across the nation.”
Mr. Krishock went on to say, “We congratulate Downing Street Playgroup in their efforts and can hardly wait to see the smiling faces of the children there as they discover the creative play offered by the Imagination Playground blocks.” He added, “Personally, I am hoping to see them put the blocks to immediate use and enter the national contest, Imagination Playground Build-A-Thon! The winning could continue!”
Imagination Playground will be extending the VOTE for Play program for another voting period. From July 27 through September 16, schools and organizations will have another chance to cast their votes to be awarded an Imagination Playground and Play Associate Training. The awardee will be announced on September 18th. Visit http://www.imaginationplayground.com/promotions/vote-for-an-imagination-playground.html
