The internationally respected field of expert co-chairs and Steering Committee members work together to develop an enriching educational experience at the nation's leading meeting for mental health professionals.
The 2023 Psych Congress national meeting will be held September 6-10 in Nashville. Psych Congress is America's premier independent conference on practical psychopharmacology and a unique, integrated forum to connect members of the entire mental health team with the foremost experts in psychiatry to improve patient outcomes through education.
Dr. Mattingly is an associate clinical professor at Washington University School of Medicine and president of the Midwest Research Group in St. Louis. He is a principal investigator in clinical trials for Midwest Research Group and a founding partner of St. Charles Psychiatric Associates, where he treats children, adolescents, and adults.

A St. Louis native, Dr. Mattingly earned his medical degree and received a Fulbright scholarship while attending Washington University. He is board certified in adult and adolescent psychiatry and is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. In his role as associate clinical professor at Washington University, he taught the 3rd year medical student psychopharmacology course for more than 20 years. Dr. Mattingly has been a principal investigator in more than 400 clinical trials focusing on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, major depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
Having served on numerous national and international advisory panels, he has received awards and distinctions for clinical leadership and neuroscience research. Dr. Mattingly is the President Elect for APSARD (the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders) and serves on the scientific program committee for the World Federation for ADHD. His diverse career includes having been a certified evaluator for both MLB and the NFL and having served on the board of Headway House, a community support program for individuals with chronic mental illness.

Returning co-chair Julie Carbray, PhD, FPMHNP-BC, PMHCNS-BC, APRN, is a clinical professor of psychiatry and nursing; director, Pediatric Mood Disorder Clinic, Institute for Juvenile Research, Department of Psychiatry, University of Illinois Chicago. As a clinician, Dr. Carbray has a national reputation for excellence in serving families of children with mood disorders. Dr. Carbray has engaged in programs of research that are investigating the psychopharmacology of mood disorders, neurobiology of mood disorders, and neurobiologically informed treatments and family response to childhood mood disorders.
Returning co-chair Rakesh Jain, MD, MPH, is a clinical professor, Department of Psychiatry, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, Midland, Texas. Dr. Jain is currently involved in multiple research projects studying the effects of medications on the short- and long-term treatment of depression, anxiety, pain/mood overlap disorders, and psychosis in adult and child/adolescent populations. He is also the author of several articles on the issue of mood and pain conditions.
