Noted mental health expert to lead nearly 5,000 members throughout the east coast and United Kingdom
WASHINGTON, July 20, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On July 3, 2022, Lisa Loury Lomas, Ph.D. became the 18th Eastern Area Director for The Links, Incorporated following the organization's 43rd National Assembly in Baltimore, MD. The Links is one of the nation's largest and oldest volunteer service organizations of professional women.

Dr. Loury Lomas is a member of the Columbia (MD) Links Chapter and is now the first in the Chesapeake Bay Cluster to hold the highest leadership position for the Eastern Area. The Eastern Area is the largest of the four regional Areas within The Links. The East represents 82 chapters and nearly 5,000 members throughout Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and the United Kingdom.
Loury Lomas' demonstrated excellence in leadership and service is extensive. She has successfully served in various Eastern Area key roles and has continued to advance in areas of responsibility, accordingly. Prior to her latest office, she was elected as Eastern Area Vice Director (2019-2022), Eastern Area Secretary (2015-2019), and appointed as the first Eastern Area Mental Health Chair (2011-2015). With her impactful focus, strategic vision, and team execution, mental health was integrated into The Links' national programming under the Health and Human Services Facet. Loury Lomas is also an alumna of The Links' Scott Hawkins Leadership Institute (Cohort IV). She is also a lifetime associate member of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated and a 35-year member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.
Professionally, Dr. Loury Lomas is a licensed mental health clinician with an emphasis in human relations and development, mood disorders, trauma, and grief. Her mental health and wellness expertise spans over three decades with experience in the judicial branch of government, academia, and the private sector. For the past two decades, she's built a leading global brand through her private practice, Lisa Listens, Incorporated. Dr. Loury Lomas' clients include individuals, agencies, and corporations who seek her customized counseling, workshop, seminar, and public speaking services.
Loury Lomas' speaking engagements include the NAACP Leadership Summit; the World Diversity Leadership Summit in Vienna, Austria; and DMV Links Red Dress'21, the nation's largest virtual heart health and wellness event. She has served on Howard County's Mental and Behavioral Health Task Force and Howard County's Board of Directors for the National Association of the Mentally Ill.
Dr. Loury Lomas holds a B.S. in psychology, an M.A. in clinical psychology, and a Ph.D. in general psychology. And she is the joyful and proud mother of sons Jeremy Lomas and William Lomas.
