EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Dr. Smita Ramanadham completed her Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX, nationally ranked number one for their plastic surgery program. Here, she trained directly under the world's leading experts in facelift, rhinoplasty, and breast augmentation. She was honored to be named the Administrative Chief Resident during her final year of residency, a unique role that few residents hold.
Dr. Ramanadham graduated with her undergraduate degree in economics and art history and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Tufts University and Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. This well-rounded education allows her to seamlessly blend art and science for beautiful aesthetic results.
Dr. Ramanadham's plastic surgery training is built on a strong foundation in general surgery also obtained at the University of Texas Southwestern. She is Board-Certified in general surgery and trained with experts in this field. This gives her a unique perspective when working with reconstructive patients as she is able to fully understand the disease process and the patient as a whole.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS
Dr. Ramanadham is honored to be inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and serves on multiple national committees, including Women Plastic Surgeons, Young Plastic Surgeons Steering Committee, Curriculum Committee, Social Media Subcommittee, Wellness Task Force, and Coding and Payment Policy Committee. She believes that women and those young in their careers must have a strong voice and work together to improve the field of plastic surgery, which is why she advocated on Capitol Hill for ASPS.
Additionally, Dr. Ramanadham believes that surgeons must maintain the highest standards of practice. This is why she is passionate about her role as a member of the editorial board for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open and reviews for the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal. Dr. Ramanadham has written extensively in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks about facelifts, injectables, and the importance of mentorship.
