Dr. Cindy N. Brayer Honored for Excellence in Laser Dentistry
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (PRWEB) July 26, 2015 -- Cindy N. Brayer, DMD, Founder of Creating Smiles Dental, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in laser dentistry.
Dr. Brayer has 15 years of dental experience, with eight as the founder of Creating Smiles Dental. Throughout her career, she has worked hard to set herself apart in the fields of general dentistry, periodontics, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, laser dentistry, bone grafts and utilization of the Waterlase Dental Laser, which allows her to perform procedures on teeth, bone and gum tissue with less trauma than traditional methods using a patented technology combining laser energy and water spray, through a process called HydroPhotonics.
Dr. Brayer places a strong emphasis on laser dentistry. Procedures performed using soft tissue dental lasers may not require sutures (stitches). Certain laser dentistry procedures do not require anesthesia. Laser dentistry minimizes bleeding and swelling during soft tissue treatments. Bacterial infections are minimized because the high-energy beam sterilizes the area on which the dental professional is working. As a result, damage to surrounding tissue is minimized, wounds heal faster and tissue can regenerate.
In the summer of 2015, she recommitted her practice to the use of state of the art laser technology. As the first and currently only dentist in a 250 mile radius using the Solea laser, she has embraced the speed, silence, and precision this new isotopic CO2 laser brings. While older lasers may be limited to soft tissue in many instances, the Solea laser allows her to work on both soft and hard tissues in all quadrants of your mouth during the same visit. This proves to be a highly effective tool in pediatric dentistry, as well, and makes dental visits for young patients and their primary teeth less traumatic. The Solea laser greatly decreases the need for traditional drills during procedures, thus reducing the need of anesthesia by up to 90%.
Dr. Brayer received a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida College Of Dentistry in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Florida, where she graduated with honors in 1995. In addition to her degrees, she completed an associate fellowship in laser dentistry through World Clinical Laser. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the Seattle Study Club, a National Dental Study Club, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, the Pinellas County Dental Association, The Academy of Laser Dentistry and the Oral Cancer Foundation. In 2014, she was honored as one of America’s Top Dentists and she received a Patients’ Choice Award from 2013-2014. Finally, she was a featured dentist in an issue of Time magazine in 2012. In the coming years, Dr. Brayer intends to possibly open a second location and continue building her practice.
