STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dr. Maria Pribis is transitioning OcularPrime into a multi-platform media startup that will cover eye-health related subjects such as eye care treatment options, new vision technology, eye-healthy nutrition, overall wellness, fitness and more.
"My initial goal for OcularPrime was to provide practical information to patients for a more informed visit to the eye doctor" Pribis said. "That goal hasn't changed, but now I want to take advantage of the available media platforms designed to reach a larger segment of the market."
The expansion of OcularPrime comes at a time when online research is a reality in patient care. The website's new format will be visually appealing and easy to navigate while presenting accurate information from doctors and students who are engaged in the field of eye care.
In private practice since 2010, Pribis has experienced thousands of interesting cases. Her main focus is dry eye disease and specialty contact lens care, but she also believes in the importance of fitness and nutrition. When out of the office, she lectures to other doctors and students on various topics including ocular disease and pharmacology. She also provides mentorship to students as a board member of SUNY College of Optometry's career development committee.
In 2015, she received the "Young Optometrist of the Year Award" for the state of Connecticut, which was given out by the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. In 2017 she was one of the Women in Business Development Council's "20 for 20 – Women in Business of Fairfield County (CT)." In early 2018 she was named the "KMK Instructor of the Year," which is a result of student feedback from schools and universities of optometry throughout the United States.
"It's important for me to stay as engaged as possible in my career, and collaboration with other professionals is a step in the right direction" Pribis added. "The more we collaborate, the more educated we become, and as a result of that, we can make better decisions in patient care."
