Dr. Shawn Williams Appointed Medical Director of Willingway
Statesboro, GA (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- Shawn Williams, D.O., has been named Medical Director of Willingway, succeeding Dr. Bobby Mooney who has served Willingway as its Medical Director since 1995. Dr. Williams joined the Willingway family as staff physician in 2011 and subsequently was named Director of Medical Education in 2013. Dr. Williams is dedicated to educating and empowering patients who are affected by alcohol and drug addiction.
“After 40 years of dedicated service to Willingway in many capacities, Dr. Bobby remains an active member of the Board of Trustees and continues to have valuable input on Willingway’s future endeavors,” says Barbara Reid, C.E.O., Willingway.
Dr. Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree at Mount Vernon Nazarene College in 1997. He attended medical school at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky. Upon graduation, Dr. Williams completed his residency at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio. He became board certified in Addiction Medicine in December of 2012. In his work, Dr. Williams strives to educate the public and health professionals on addiction and addiction recovery. He has spent many hours conducting presentations on addiction medicine at different national and local conferences.

Dr. Shawn is married to Lisa and they have two children, Taylor, 11, and Makalah, 9. The family enjoys going to church, bowling, hiking and exercising together.
Willingway, was founded in Statesboro by Dr. John and Dot Mooney in 1971. Dot and John's four children: Dr. Al J. Mooney III, Jimmy Mooney, Dr. Bobby Mooney, and Carol Lind Mooney remain on the Board of Trustees and are involved in the operations of the rehab center.
