Dr. Stanley Jacobs Presents at the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery
The triple board-certified facial cosmetic surgeon traveled from the Bay Area to Germany in the fall
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery's annual conference was held this year from Sept. 12 to 15 in Regensburg, Germany. San Francisco Bay Area cosmetic surgeon Dr. Stanley Jacobs attended to present a paper to an audience made up of physicians from around the world—all working in various disciplines under the umbrella of facial plastic surgery.
Participating in the section titled "Facial Volume—Finding Perfect Harmony," moderated by Beverly Hills' Dr. William Binder, Dr. Jacobs presented "Mandelic Acid for Improvement of Facial Skin Visco-elasticity." Three other presenters also shared their papers: "Etiology of Aging: The Illusion of Volume Loss" (Connecticut and New York's Neil Gordon), "Do We Still Need Midface Lifts" (Baltimore's Dr. Theda Kontis), and "Myomodulation with HA Fillers: A Novel Concept" (Germany's Dr. Patricia Ogilvie).
Dr. Jacobs' paper was built on his own research into an alpha hydroxyl acid derived from bitter almonds. Known as "mandelic acid," the element that could be vital to the future of skincare and facial rejuvenation has deep roots in the past. Dr. Jacobs became aware of mandelic acid as an ingredient in serums to improve skin elasticity and other youthful qualities when he pored over an almost-4,000-year-old papyrus that contains, among other items, a formula for "Transforming an old man into a youth."

The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery's conference encompassed five lecture halls, each filled with presenters sharing videos, delivering lectures, speaking on panels, and participating in round tables. In all, more than 150 faculty members led 350 sessions and events, including Dr. Jacobs' presentation.
