A Challenging Tender Process
The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn (https://www.lincolnsinn.org.uk) is one of the four Inns of Court in London where barristers of England and Wales belong to. The Inn was founded in 1422 and is located in Holborn within the London Borough of Camden. As a result, the drainage system was very old and drainage work required companies with the highest levels of expertise.
Part of the challenge for Drain 247 for this tender was that they had to demonstrate their knowledge, experience, staff and equipment in order to deliver a successful and comprehensive analysis.
Winning the Contract
Amongst a handful of other (much larger) contractors, Drain 247 were hand-picked and awarded the tender as they were able to demonstrate that they could deliver everything required at a competitive price.
A key feature was the requirement to work during tight deadlines and unsociable hours. Night time delivery of the drainage work was a major requirement due to the high level of traffic experienced from both pedestrians and motorized vehicles during normal day time hours. This would have made working unsafe and very disruptive for both parties involved. Coupled with the strict no noise policy of The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn; night time work was the only viable option. Drain 247's investment in battery operated, mobile drain camera systems came to be a huge advantage in this regard as it allowed them to carry out the work with minimal noise and disruption to those on the estate during the night.
In addition to the no noise policy, a crawler camera system needed to be deployed and AutoCAD software used to completely survey and map out the Victorian drainage system. This required a high-level of technical skill, equipment and experience which only certain drainage companies like Drain 247 can provide.
