NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- At the Central Virginia Apartment Association's RAMMY Awards last month, Drucker + Falk (DF), a full-service real estate and investment firm, was recognized with six awards for its hard work and achievements in multifamily, including Tarra Secrest receiving the "Marketing Professional of the Year" Award.
Tarra Secrest joined Drucker + Falk in April 2005, and was charged with leasing the Cosmopolitan Apartments in Virginia Beach's Town Center. Since that time, Tarra has been involved in assisting with the planning, design, marketing and lease up of 24 communities in the Hampton Roads region, including but not limited to The Crossings at Redmill, Solace, and The Choices at Windsor Holland in Virginia Beach, The Chapman at PTC, and Axis Apartments in Hampton, and Venture Apartments in Tech Center in Newport News. In addition to focusing on the Hampton Roads Region, in recent years Tarra spread her expertise to the greater Richmond area and was involved in working with developers on communities including Deco at CNB, Carytown Crossing and Avia Apartment Homes. Currently she is working on several brand-new communities in the greater Richmond market that are in some stage of development. According to John Gibson III, Managing Partner of Virginia Beach based Venture Realty Group "What sets Tarra apart is that she has firsthand experience with leasing and apartment management and understands how to work with developers to create unique living experiences that appeal to the market. Her strengths in brand development, property naming, amenity program design and community engagement strategies are second to none".
Along with her newly received "Marketing Professional of the Year" Award, Tarra's recognitions include, "Peninsula Apartment Council Site Manager of The Year" nominee, recipient of the coveted Drucker & Falk "Directors Choice Award," and the Hampton Roads Apartment Council 2016 "Corporate Employee of the Year".
"The passion, commitment, integrity and fresh ideas that Tarra Secrest brings to not only the DF family but to the multifamily sector as a whole is second to none," said Wendy Drucker, Managing Director at Drucker + Falk. "I can't think of anyone more dedicated to creating and implementing A+ initiatives that benefit the industry and the residents we serve, and certainly no one more deserving of her Marketing Professional of the Year Award."
A Certified Apartment Portfolio Specialist (CAPS®) and frequent CAM® instructor for Apartment Marketing & Management of Residential Issues through the Hampton Roads Apartment Council (HRAC) and National Apartment Association (NAA), Tarra is an active participant in local and national industry events. She currently serves as the Chairman of the HRAC Events and Education Committee and is the Vice Chairman of the HRAC Advisory Committee. Her ongoing charitable partnerships with The Samaritan House in Virginia Beach, The Full Circle Project and AEDS Parents Association demonstrates her commitment to her community she calls home.
