DSG announce FTBpro PFA fan player of the month contenders
(PRWEB UK) 24 January 2014 -- DSG have announced the contenders for this month’s prestigious fan’s player award. The FTBPro PFA fan player of the month award is a prestigious award voted for by fans across the DSG and FTBPro football networks and is presented to the player each month by a fan.
The award this month already has several contenders who have played some exceptional football over the course of January so far. Football fans can vote for whichever player they please across the Premier League as well as each division of the Football League. The following are the leading contenders for the Premier League award released by DSG.
First up is Liverpool's Luis Suarez (surprise surprise), arguably the most in-form player in the Premier League. 3 goals in 3 appearances from the Uruguayan have kept Liverpool in contention at the top of the Premier League and Suarez top of the Premier League scoring charts.
Manchester City's Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has also caught the eye this month. Scoring 2 goals in 3 appearances whilst impressively marshalling the City midfield. Toure also boasts a 91% pass accuracy during the 3 Premier League games this month making him a vital component of the goal scoring machine that is Manchester City.
Santi Cazorla, midfield maestro of Premier League leader Arsenal is the next player announced that is in contention for the award. The 29-year-old has been in the shadow of Mesut Ozil since his arrival at The Emirates but Cazorla has been the star this month, scoring 2 goals in 3 appearances in the Premier League and creating 7 scoring chances for his team mates.
Eden Hazard has recently quashed speculation linking him with a January move to French giants PSG and Chelsea will be thankful as the Belgium international is currently in fine form for the London club. The 23-year-old has scored 1 goal in 3 Premier League games and created 5 chances for his team-mates but the stand out statistic for Hazard is his 100% shot accuracy so defenders beware, if he has a sight on goal he'll hit the target.
Adebayor has been revitalised since Tim Sherwood took over as Tottenham manager, scoring 3 goals in 3 appearances so far during January including Spurs opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford helping the London club to a famous 2-1 victory against the current Premier League champions.
French international Yohan Cabaye has been instrumental in Newcastle's successes this season and was on hand to help his team during January with 2 goals in 3 appearances whilst creating 7 goal scoring opportunities for his team-mates, all whilst maintaining an impressive pass and shot accuracy.
