Document Storage Systems, Inc. (DSS, Inc.), a leading provider of health information technology (HIT) solutions for federal, private and public healthcare organizations, today announced certification as a Select Implementation Partner with InterSystems Corporation.
InterSystems Corporation is a leading database management and healthcare information systems provider that powers large EHR vendor systems, hospital infrastructures, as well as national and regional health exchanges.
HealthShare Health Connect HL7 Solutions from InterSystems provide an efficient and secure way to connect disparate medical information systems. This allows large care facilities to modernize their HIT systems while protecting the personally identifiable information (PII) of patients.
This type of patient data interoperability is especially critical for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as it conducts a major transition to a new EHR system designed to be interoperable with the DoD health records. As part of this transition, Veterans’ health records will need to be in multiple systems for a period of years to ensure seamless care.
“We are very pleased to receive this certification, which reflects our successful partnership with InterSystems and the value that relationship delivers for our customers,” said Mark Byers, president of DSS, Inc. and a 2020 FedHealth IT 100 awardee. “Healthcare IT must always enhance the care received by patients, never hinder it in any way. For complex challenges such as the VA’s EHR modernization program, robust and secure data interoperability is a requirement for system success.”
Partners must develop and maintain a high level of expertise in technology to attain membership in the InterSystems Partner program. To achieve certification a minimum number of individuals must successfully pass certification exams and continue to be employed by the partner.
