Roadsmart IV is the next evolution in Dunlop's sport-touring line and introduces new tread patterns, construction, compounds and profiles. The technology offers consumers a new sport-touring option with outstanding stability and increased longevity.
Roadsmart IV's best-in-class performance and mileage were confirmed in a wear test conducted by Texas Test Fleet, Inc. earlier this year. In these evaluations, conducted on public roadways, the Roadsmart IV rear tire outlasted a Michelin Road 5 GT by 49%, with the front tire outperforming Michelin by 34%.
Dunlop's Roadsmart IV delivers its premium performance through a number of design, material and construction improvements. The rear tire uses MT Multi-TreadTM technology with a long-wearing compound in the center of the tire and special lateral compounds on the shoulders for outstanding grip. Front and rear tire compounds contain Hi Silica X and Fine Carbon to increase wet grip and stopping performance. New sidewall construction improves wet and dry handling and comfort.
The Roadsmart IV delivers the handling and comfort riders expect from Dunlop Motorcycle Tires while improving on the performance of the Roadsmart III. Testing performed by Dunlop in Japan shows the Roadsmart IV offers 23% increased mileage in the front and 26% increased mileage in the rear compared to the Roadsmart III. The Roadsmart IV also offers marked improvement in steering response, nimbleness and stability in corners over the Roadsmart III.
The Roadsmart IV is currently available in a range of popular sizes: two models for the front (120/70ZR17 and 120/70ZR18) and five models for the rear (160/60ZR17, 170/60ZR17, 180/55ZR17, 190/50ZR17 and 190/55ZR17).
