DuPont Electronics & Imaging's Mingqi Li to Receive AAEOY Engineer of the Year Award
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (PRWEB) June 11, 2019 -- DuPont Electronics & Imaging is proud to announce that Mingqi Li, Ph.D., principal research scientist, has been selected by the Asian American Engineer of the Year Award (AAEOY) program as one of the recipients of its 2019 Engineer of the Year Award. The award will be presented at the AAEOY Conference August 16-17, 2019, in Dallas, Texas.
Part of the DiscoverE Program (formerly National Engineers Week), AAEOY is a national recognition event first introduced in 2002 to honor the most distinguished professionals for their leadership, technical achievements and remarkable public service. Today AAEOY is considered a prestigious and important forum for promoting STEM activities in corporate America, academia and government entities.
Nominated by his peers for exhibiting exemplary performance as a technically skilled scientist and for inspiring his team, Li is primarily recognized for his technical authority on various photolithographic materials. He specializes in developing polymeric spin-on solutions for creating lithographic patterns at the leading edge of imaging science capabilities. Li is an inventor on over 39 U.S. patents, and an author of more than 30 journal and technical papers.
“Dr. Li is an innovation powerhouse for DuPont. His patents are considered industry cornerstones and are often cited. Dr. Li is known for driving team brainstorms and spends much of his time in the lab steering projects,” said Alexa Dembek, Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer for DuPont. “He also takes an active interest in new hires, and delights in sharing his knowledge of chemistry and process engineering. Dr. Li is most deserving of this award, and we congratulate him on this auspicious recognition from his peers.”
Li is an influential force in DuPont’s Semiconductor Technologies business group. He leads a materials team as well as individual design and synthesis activities to deliver innovative solutions for various commercial product lines. He and his team have invented, developed and scaled more than 25 products to commercialization, materials that are continuing to bring value to DuPont and its customers.
As an active member of SPIE and the American Chemical Society, Li presents his research regularly at national and local events. He has served as an industrial liaison for Semiconductor Research Corporation, as well as an industrial consultant for a photoresist National Science Foundation GOALI project. Li is also a principal investigator for several DuPont Electronics & Imaging-supported university projects.
In his spare time, Li serves both the DuPont community as well as his local community. He participates in the ergonomic safety team at DuPont’s Marlborough, Mass., facility and mentors new hires on lab techniques, safety and technology. Outside of the office, he volunteers as the maintenance and safety inspector for the Century Chinese Language School.
As recipient of this prestigious award, Li joins hundreds of Asian American professionals from leading U.S. corporations, acclaimed research institutions and the U.S. Armed Forces. Past award winners include Nobel laureates, academics and key corporate executives.
