DuPont Transportation & Industrial (DuPont) today announced three innovative products have been named finalists for the 2020 R&D 100 Awards, according to the influential R&D World magazine.

The three DuPont finalists for 2020 are:
- BETAFORCE™ 2800 TC, which enables required heat transfer from electric vehicle (EV) battery modules into cooling units, the structural integrity of the entire battery compartment, and tailor-made curing kinetics for lean and efficient manufacturing processes. The battery design was jointly developed with Audi for mass production of the e-tron®.
- Delrin® SC698 resin with integrated lubrication can help improve patient comfort and ease of use by ensuring smooth actuation of high-load drug delivery devices like inhalers, injectors, and pumps. Its strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability make it ideal for high-precision parts that are subjected to long-term loading.
- Zytel® HTN42G30EF, a new 30% glass-fiber reinforced bio-based, high-performance polyamide, which has a novel combination of process and mechanical properties, reflow soldering resistance, and stability against heat with prevention of electro-chemical corrosion. It is used for vehicle systems that provide infotainment, navigation, advanced driver assistance, safety, and internet connectivity.
Since 1962, the R&D 100 Awards have identified revolutionary technologies newly introduced to the market. Widely recognized as the “Oscars of Invention,” the R&D 100 Awards identify and celebrate the top technology products and services of the year. The winners of the R&D 100 will be announced in three virtual award presentations next week (September 29 – October 1, 2020), with each day highlighting R&D 100 winners in different categories. DuPont Transportation & Industrial has had 16 products selected as R&D 100 finalists over the past seven years. Six products have gone on to be named winners.
