Duthie Power is giving back this holiday season by donating to the Thanksgiving CARE box program sponsored by Crossroads Church Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif., Nov. 14, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Duthie Power Services, Southern California's Generator Experts since 1965, is supporting Crossroads Church Long Beach to give back this holiday season. The team at Crossroads Church, under the leadership of Pastor Paul Montano and in partnership with The Secret Place Church and A World with Compassion, are bringing Thanksgiving CARE boxes with a full Thanksgiving meal to struggling families in the community. Duthie Power has pledged to sponsor 50 CARE boxes, continuing their history of supporting Crossroads' Thanksgiving meal programs.
Community service is a pillar of Duthie Power's company values, and with Crossroads Church just down the street from their Long Beach offices, it's a perfect partnership for giving back. "Crossroads Church is literally our neighbor in Long Beach, so we feel lucky to have a local partner who we can support to give back to our community. Our staff has been very generous over the years with donations for school supply drives, Thanksgiving meal packages and the annual Toys for Tots drive," says Shana Duthie, Head of Sales and Marketing.
Donating to the local church's community service campaigns isn't the only way Duthie Power gives back. As Erik Duthie, General Manager and Senior Vice President, explains, "we are always looking for opportunities to support our community. Earlier this year, we sponsored the EXP Oceans of Opportunity program and hosted three summer interns to help students in underserved communities gain access to educational and career success."
Duthie Power also participated in EXP's 2022 GPS Your Future student expo this last September. Shana Duthie was a featured panelist in a session on business and entrepreneurship at this annual career discovery event for high school students.
Another investment in local education is being spearheaded by Randy Gross, Head of Quality Assurance. "We have been working with Long Beach City College to create a program to train the next generation of generator technicians. Many innovations are affecting the future of the power generation industry, but one item holds steady: we need skilled technicians."
Over the summer, Duthie Power's staff also participated in Justin Rudd's monthly beach cleanup. This staff participation built upon years of Duthie Power donating water and soda to Justin Rudd's monthly community event.
