Manchester, New Hampshire (PRWEB) June 24, 2014 -- Dyn, the worldwide leader in Internet performance, announced today the launch of a new DNS network in China, which will allow global brands to connect faster and more reliably with the largest population of online users in the world.
In 2013, China’s online population reached 618 million users (roughly one out of every five online users worldwide), according to the Chinese Internet Network Information Center. Those Internet users also spend money online. In fact, Chinese consumers shop online 8.4 times each month, compared to only 5.2 times per month for U.S. users. Yet 72 percent of multinational companies reported that slow or unstable Internet access has impeded their ability to effectively do business in China.
“China has one of the largest and fastest growing economies in the world,” said Scott Hilton, Dyn EVP, Product. “But without reliable and high-performance DNS to power their online presence, global brands are at risk of missing out on potential Chinese customers. Dyn’s China Network helps deliver a superior web experience that can increase brand awareness and drive more sales.”
Unlike other DNS services, Dyn’s China Network, which spans multiple locations to ensure reliability and performance, allows the majority of requests from within China to stay inside the country. This results in increased performance and reliability.
Dyn’s China Network, which has already been made available for a few select clients, has increased Dyn’s reliability in the country from 95 percent to 99 percent. Additionally, average query latency from Chinese locations has improved by 70 to 90 percent over existing performance, which translates into a better user experience since webpages load much faster.
"Global companies seeking to extend their brands and businesses into the fast growing China marketplace must meet high expectations for a fast and reliable user experience in the cloud," said Richard Villars, Vice President, Datacenter & Cloud at IDC. "Solutions like Dyn's new China network which offers managed DNS services will play a key role in significantly lowering the barrier to entry for multi-national companies that want to build a Chinese presence while dramatically improving the reliability and experience for their Chinese customers."
To operate the new China Network, Dyn has partnered with C3Edge, a total IT solutions provider that offers tailored solutions for multinationals seeking to gain an advantage in the China market.
“We understand the challenges of operating a global Internet presence within China as well as anyone,” said Kaichin Chen, General Manager of C3Edge. “We’re proud to share that expertise with a company like Dyn to continue to improve Internet performance in China and connect the fastest growing Internet market with global brands.”
The China Network is available to global companies that have a presence in China or a specific .cn domain.
Dyn is the number one provider of managed DNS services among the Top 1000 and the Top 10000 visited websites, according to Alexa, a website that ranks the top web-sites visited worldwide.
