Dynamsoft has released a new version of the Dynamsoft Barcode Reader SDK. In the new version, Dynamsoft added support for mirrored rectangular DataMatrix barcodes by implementing a `MirrorMode` when localizing the barcodes. The rectangular form of a DataMatrix code with its limited height is better suited to high-speed printing and unusual printing spaces. The ability to scan a mirrored code is also applicable to other 2D barcode types such as QR codes and PDF417 barcodes.

When a viewer loads an image that has orientation information encoded, it would be rotated accordingly. Once the barcode is scanned, Dynamsoft Barcode Reade SDK detects the barcode location and orientation. The new version's image orientation handling is supported by a new feature with the addition of the Transformation Matrix. With the Transformation Matrix, the developer could get the correct barcode location and orientation in any viewer coordinate system.

The new version also focuses on multiple improvements in decoding DotCodes, majorly used in the tobacco industry. With these improvements, Dynamsoft solves the pain points of the tobacco industry, such as poorly printed codes and glare, slow decoding, and difficulty reading multiple codes in one scan.

Dynamsoft has also bettered QR code localization when processing multiple dense QR codes in speed mode. This benefits users with an improved success rate.

These “intermediate image results” provide information that advanced users can employ in other workflows to improve efficiency or create new applications. There are many different types of intermediate image results produced in the process of decoding a barcode.
