Still Life Painter Lin La Mer Builds EAFA Presence in the Seattle Design Center
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- Former President of the Evergreen Association of Fine Arts, Lin La Mer, played an integral role in establishing an EAFA Gallery presence in the prominent Seattle Design Center which is now home to over 400 local artists. Ms. La Mer not only established a new EAFA presence, but she continues to inspire others and provide culture inside the gallery as she paints live twice a month to infuse culture and educate others. “I am a passionate painter, and want to give back and share my knowledge and expertise with others. Live painting draws a crowd, and impacts overall sales, so it’s a great way to give back, and allow the gallery to get a bit more exposure,” touted Lin La Mer.
Before being President of EAFA for three years, Ms. La Mer began her career at the esteemed Porter and Chester Institute where she graduated with a degree in Mechanical Design Engineering. She then worked in engineering at Omega Engineering for fifteen years before enrolling at the prestigious Gage Academy where she completed over 30 prominent art classes, which led her down the path towards oil and eventually still life painting.
“Still life painting is similar to mechanical engineering in the sense that I am dealing with objects, and I take those objects and infuse them with a passion and a style all my own, stated Ms. La Mer. Still life painting is my reminder to myself and to others that we must be awake, and look around at this amazing planet and the simple varieties of life that are right in front of us on a daily basis.”
Ms. La Mer has been in several juried shows, and most recently won first place at the esteemed Richeson 75 Competition, where she won top honors in the Still Life Category. She is currently showing at EAFA Gallery, and at the Up Front Gallery in Issaquah, Washington.
