EAM-Mosca Unveils Total-Cost-of-Ownership Calculator

A more prudent approach might be to analyze investment choices by holistically reviewing total operation expenditures. To encourage this analytical approach, EAM-Mosca has recently developed a Total-Cost-of-Ownership (TCO) Calculator for determining strapping system costs. The Calculator takes the user through a stepwise analysis that looks at equipment investment; comparative before/after costs in the areas of throughput and labor; strapping material, spare parts and maintenance costs. It then tallies the expected cost savings and calculates a return on investment of the overall project.
EAM-Mosca’s Marketing Director, Lubi Novotna, developer of the calculator, claims that it is intended to assist purchasers in viewing the true, overall project impact on the organization. According to Novotna, “The TCO can help avoid unanticipated costs that arise from basing purchase decisions on a single cost element, when in fact there are multiple cost factors involved.”
Novotna says that strapping system buyers will see a benefit from taking this approach, but she admits that EAM-Mosca will benefit from viewing the impact of the complete system rather than isolating individual elements. “Because Mosca equipment can often demonstrate faster speeds, higher reliability; and lower parts/maintenance costs while running with lighter, lower cost strapping, viewing the complete solution tends to put EAM-Mosca in a favorable competitive position.” She further claims to be able to cite examples and historical data that validate this claim. “We invite customers to use this tool to truly minimize their ownership costs and maximize the productivity of their production processes” she maintains.
The TCO Calculator is already in use and EAM-Mosca’s Sales Team is trained and ready to use it to help prospective customers optimize their strapping system decisions.
