Eargo, the health tech company that’s destigmatizing hearing loss through consumer-driven innovation, was awarded Best Companies for Perks & Benefits for this quarter’s Comparably Award. The award celebrates top-rated companies and leaders based on sentiment ratings provided by employees who anonymously rated their employers on Comparably.com between September 12, 2017 and September 12, 2018. There were no fees or costs associated with participating, nor was nomination required.

Winners were determined based on a series of workplace culture questions employees were asked in categories including: Work-Life Balance, Perks & Benefits, Compensation, and Happiness (in Yes/No, True/False, 1-10 scale, and multiple choice formats). The answer to each question was given a numerical score and then compared to companies of similar size across the U.S. Additional weight was given to scores at companies with more participation from their employee base. The final data set was compiled from over 5 million ratings across 45,000 U.S. companies on Comparably.com.

“This set of Comparably Awards focuses on companies that most reward their employees,” said Jason Nazar, CEO of Comparably. “These employers stand out as the best of the best providing amazing benefits and great work-life balance to foster some of the happiest employees in the United States.”

“As we continue to scale at a rapid pace, we have not lost focus on the people that matter most — the incredible team that makes up Eargo,” said Christian Gormsen, CEO of Eargo. “This award is a true reflection of our unique company culture and I’m honored to work alongside the best talent in the industry every day.”

Eargo is best known for the Eargo Max, a rechargeable hearing aid that fits discreetly inside the user’s ear, removing the social stigmas traditionally associated with hearing aids. Eargo’s patented Flexi Fibers, made from soft, medical-grade silicone, allow for a more open, natural sound experience, amplifying sounds within the user’s line of sight and reduces surrounding noises, enabling people to once again experience life in full, rich sound.
