Hickory, NC (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- Dirtball is an apparel company based in Hickory, North Carolina that focuses on two concepts: eco-friendly clothing and American-made apparel. They have seamlessly married the two concepts into a successful business that has been selling clothing and gear made from recycled cotton, plastic, and polyester since 2008. In September, Dirtball ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to bring their most innovative product yet, the Green Jean, to market. Now, Dirtball is in the process of shipping the Green Jean to backers who pledged for them, and plans to fulfill all pre-orders between November 15th and 26th.

The Green Jean, like everything in Dirtball’s product line, is made completely from recycled materials, using recycled and organic cotton and 8-10 recycled water bottles in every pair. There are four styles of Green Jean that are currently available; Rigid, Enzymed, Regular, and Khaki. Rigid is a black jean, regular is a modern ultra-dark denim, and enzymed is a medium-color blue denim, while khaki is an eco-friendly take on a classic. The company describes its jeans as having a classic comfort fit—not too skinny and not too loose, with a perfect rise, resulting in a fit that will never go out of style.

Dirtball has sourced all the materials for the jeans from regional suppliers; all metal pieces are from Georgia, denim and stitching supplies are sourced locally from North Carolina, and final assembly is done in Kentucky.

“By not going too far to secure our resources, we shorten our supply chain, therefore lowering our carbon footprint which attests to our eco-friendly initiative,” notes Joe Fox, founder of Dirtball. “This initiative lowers some of our costs, which allows us to offset the higher labor costs, and employ more American workers.”

Dirtball also recently received publicity via a sticker placement in the film Bad Grandpa, which is currently in theatres nationwide. In the movie, which was filmed mostly in the Charlotte area, Johnny Knoxville’s character has a long scene where he converses with a man working a street food cart. On that cart is a prominent Dirtball sticker.
