Edgenuity’s Instructional Services Now Pre-Approved by NCAA
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) July 23, 2015 -- Edgenuity, a leading provider of online and blended learning solutions, announced today that it has been awarded “cleared” status by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) after undergoing an extended evaluation period. Edgenuity’s Instructional Services program is now pre-approved to be used by student-athletes to fulfill their academic requirements.

Edgenuity’s digital curriculum is also pre-approved for use with district teachers. Although districts must submit the details of their implementation for NCAA review, they do not need to submit the curriculum. Rio Rancho Cyber Academy (RRCA) in Rio Rancho, New Mexico uses Edgenuity’s NCAA approved curriculum to provide online learning opportunities for middle and high school students in grades 6-12 with their own teachers. With Edgenuity, RRCA students and student-athletes undergo a rigorous, college-preparatory learning experience that pairs online learning with the benefit of a robust teacher-student interactive component.

In July 2013, the NCAA awarded “extended evaluation” status for Edgenuity after completing a thorough review of Edgenuity’s curriculum and implementation model, finding that it met their guidelines for online courses. Since that review, Edgenuity has served more than 200 student-athletes through its Instructional Services program across the country. As part of the extended evaluation, NCAA monitored progress from many of these student-athletes, resulting in their recent status update of “cleared.”
