Edmonton Criminal Lawyer, Austin Corbett Wins The Bruce Gunn Junior Barrister's Award
Austin Corbett, a young criminal lawyer at Bottos Law Group in Edmonton, has won the prestigious Bruce Gunn Junior Barrister's award. Among many reasons for his successful nomination, Austin regularly does pro-bono work with marginalized populations in Alberta and Northwest Territories.

This award is presented annually to young lawyers who show great promise in the area of criminal law. Austin has demonstrated a passion for criminal law and a commitment to pro bono work. He's also shown a willingness to assist other counsel, unrepresented accused persons, and the courts throughout his five years as a criminal lawyer.

Much of Austin's criminal law work over the past five years has been legal aid or pro bono both here in Alberta and in the Northwest Territories, often assisting people who have very restricted access to legal counsel and advice. Austin wasn't always interested in criminal law. During his undergrad, Austin's interests were focused on internet rights and copyright law which led him down the path to law school. He also spent time volunteering with Student Legal Services, where he began to see the impact his work had for both low-income and marginalized individuals dealing with criminal offences in Edmonton.
