Educator Teaches Kids How to Count Money and Make Change in Latest Children's Book

DALLAS, Ga., Sept. 13, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Seasoned educator Anita VanBrackle, Ed.D., has published a colorfully illustrated children's book that invites kids to follow along as a community of critters discovers currency and learns how to count and spend it.

In "The Money Book: How Animals Learn to Count Money," a collective of forest animals, who have largely subsisted on bartering and sharing to fill their community's needs, find round copper- and silver-colored shapes near their home. Initially, they are unsure of what the mysterious objects could be, but one of their denizens, an owl named Sir Oliver, recognizes them instantly as coins used by humans to buy things.

While sorting the shapes into first different colors and then different sizes, the excited animals learn the value of each round metal coin – from shiny copper pennies to gleaming 50-cent pieces. After working together to add up their discovered money, the forest creatures transport the coins to an old country store, where they treat themselves to a feast of delicious fruits, vegetables, and meats.

With the help of these friendly wild animals, young readers will be swept up on an entertaining and educational adventure as they grow their confidence in and understanding of counting coins and making purchases.
