Psychiatrist Dr. Fenton G. LeBon launches the Human Energy Center — a new clinical discipline that treats human energy as a measurable vital sign, built on nano-delivered NAD+ and a complete peptide protocol.
JUPITER, Fla., Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fatigue is one of the most common complaints doctors hear. In a study of 686 primary care patients by researchers at McGill University and the Sir Mortimer B. Davis–Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, 13.6% came to their doctor with a complaint of fatigue.(1)
Dr. Fenton G. LeBon, MD, MBA, a psychiatrist based in Jupiter, Florida, argues that medicine still lacks a dedicated framework for evaluating that complaint, and he is proposing one.
"Medicine measures blood pressure, glucose, and kidney function with real rigor," said Dr. LeBon. "But energy — the thing patients care about most — we treat as a feeling. Energy is not an organ's property. It is a system's output. And systems can be measured."
A PROPOSED FRAMEWORK: ENERGY AS A SYSTEM'S OUTPUT
The Human Energy Center framework considers energy across six domains: how the body produces energy, delivers it, regulates it, consumes it, and recovers it, and how the nervous system governs all five. It is built on a principle Dr. LeBon calls the First Law of Human Energy: energy cannot be sustainably increased until the biological factors that diminish it have been identified and removed.
The framework is a conceptual model and has not yet been evaluated in published clinical studies. Dr. LeBon lays it out in his forthcoming book, The Human Energy Center.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE QUESTION: NAD+
Dr. LeBon's interest in cellular energy centers on NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a coenzyme cells use in energy metabolism. A 2021 review in Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, co-authored by Eric Verdin of the University of California, San Francisco, reports that tissue and cellular NAD+ levels gradually decline with age across multiple organisms.(2)
"Every specialty in medicine started when someone decided a problem deserved its own discipline," said Dr. LeBon. "Cardiology. Oncology. Sleep medicine. Energy is next."
