The meeting is organized by HMP, a leader in health care education and events.
The 2019 educational program explores a range of important topics including pyschopharmacology, addiction, and telepsychiatry, offers access to some of the nation's leading minds in psychiatry and mental health, and emphasizes practical takeaways.
Delivering the 2019 keynote will be best-selling author John Elder Robison, Neurodiversity Scholar in Residence and founder of the Neurodiversity Program at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. In a session based on his new book Switched On, a follow up to his international bestseller, Look Me in the Eye, Robison continues sharing details of his extraordinary memoir about growing up with Asperger's and the impact of participating in a pioneering brain therapy study designed to understand and address the issues at the heart of autism and Asperger's.
A featured session "Re-Designing Mental Healthcare," presented by J. Andrew Chacko, MD, MSE, FAPA, a psychiatrist and engineer, and founder and principal at ChackoMD, will discuss how to apply the principles of design thinking, heavily utilized in Silicon Valley, to health care.
The final day of Elevate 2019 features re:Think, a series of short, dynamic TED-style talks designed to spark deep conversation, critical thinking, and new ideas to improve patient care.
With a smaller, more intimate setting than its larger sister conference, Psych Congress, that annually attracts more than 3,000 clinicians from around the world, Elevate is different.
