Ellevate Network Launches EllevateHER Forward, Pledges To Match Up To $250,000 For Women Economically Impacted By COVID-19
A fellowship granting fund, EllevateHER Forward equips women who have been economically impacted by the pandemic with tools and resources to return to work.
NEW YORK, May 5, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ellevate Network, the largest community of women at work, launches EllevateHER Forward, a fellowship granting fund designed to alleviate the economic burden of the novel coronavirus pandemic on women and support their journey back to the workplace.
EllevateHER Forward Fellows are equipped with comprehensive membership packages that include networking opportunities, a wide range of professional and personal development programming, online resources, Ellevate's signature 12-week virtual program Squads, and access to a community of over 150,000+ women. Contributions made to the fund will be matched up to $250,000 by Ellevate Network.
"With women representing the majority of COVID-19 related layoffs, taking on additional caregiving responsibilities, and facing even more challenges when returning to work, it is apparent that the post-pandemic recovery plan for women's role in the workplace needs to be one that is long-term and holistic," says Kristy Wallace, CEO of Ellevate Network. "It is with humility and a great sense of responsibility that we put our efforts towards closing the gender gap in the workplace that has become even more apparent in the face of the pandemic. We cannot wait to be able to witness the resilience and the incredible accomplishments of EllevateHER Forward Fellows."
EllevateHER Forward is accepting applications through June 5th from women who have been furloughed, unemployed, or financially impacted due to the crisis and are planning to return to work. Fellowships will commence mid-June, and last for a full year. EllevateHER Forward is funded through the generous contributions of Ellevate Network members, supporters, and others committed to relieving the economic impact of the pandemic on women.
Those interested in making a contribution or applying to receive a fellowship can do so on http://www.ellevateher.com.
The program is also accepting sponsorships from organizations that are interested in sponsoring the return to work of groups of 25-100 women and those who are committed to diversity and inclusion. Those interested in sponsorship opportunities, can find more information here.
