Ellevate Network Opens Second Year of EllevateHER Forward, Pledges To Match Up To $250,000 For Women Economically Impacted By COVID-19
A fellowship granting fund, EllevateHER Forward, equips women impacted by the pandemic with access to Ellevate programs to support their return to work.
NEW YORK, March 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ellevate Network, the largest community of women+ at work, will be opening applications for fellows and accepting contributions for the second year of EllevateHER Forward, a fellowship granting fund designed to alleviate the economic burden and severe impact of the pandemic-induced recession that women are facing.
EllevateHER Forward Fellows will be welcomed to a community of over 250,000 women. They will participate in Ellevate's year-long programs for Rising Leaders, Career Changers, Managers, Entrepreneurs or Executives, as well as the Mobilize Women Program focused on creating a more inclusive business culture.
Ellevate's programs create safe spaces for women to listen and learn from peers focused on similar questions. They are designed to to provide validation, emotional support, and motivation, not to mention career opportunities and advice through a variety of community building and learning formats.
"When we launched EllevateHER Forward in 2020, it was in response to women being disproportionally impacted by COVID-19. While the recent data on women losing jobs and leaving the workforce over this past year is shocking and discouraging, I'm hopeful that EllevateHER Forward will accelerate the post-pandemic recovery plan for women's role in the workplace, as well as amplify the need for participation from companies and communities in making forward progress," says Kristy Wallace, CEO of Ellevate Network. "We are immensely grateful and acknowledge our privilege to be able to garner the generous contributions made by our community to support our EllevateHER Forward Fellows."
EllevateHER Forward is accepting applications through April 5th from women who have been furloughed, unemployed, or financially impacted due to the crisis and need the resources to plan their return to work. Fellowships will commence mid-May, and last for a full year.
EllevateHER Forward is funded through the generous contributions of Ellevate Network members, supporters, and others committed to supporting women impacted by the pandemic. Contributions made to the fund will be matched up to $250,000 by Ellevate Network. Those interested in making a contribution or applying to receive a fellowship can do so on at EllevateHerForward.com.
The program is also accepting sponsorships from organizations that are interested in sponsoring the return to work of groups of 25-100 women and those who are committed to diversity and inclusion. Those interested in sponsorship opportunities, can find more information here.
EllevateHER Forward is an iteration of EllevateHER, which has granted over 1,000 fellowships since 2017 to veterans, women in transition, non-profit professionals, recent graduates, and members of underrepresented groups in the workplace.
