Donation drive collected 838 hand and dish soaps to help the charity reduce operating expenses.
DALLAS, March 28, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Emler Swim School (https://emlerswimschool.com), the nation's fastest-growing kids swim school, has announced the completion of its latest donation drive. From February 10 – February 24, all 30 Emler Swim Schools and 13 affiliated locations in nine states across the U.S. asked their students and parents to donate soap in support of their regional Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald House provides accommodations to families with hospitalized children who are being treated at nearby medical facilities. Each night, the charity provides over 7,200 bedrooms to families with an estimated value of $700 million in lieu of hotel costs. This helps families reduce travel costs and allows them to focus on the medical care their children need.
"Being able to contribute to such an amazing charity as the Ronald McDonald House was an easy ask for all of our families." says Greg Laird, Emler's CEO, "Helping children and families is central to both organizations core values."
The Emler donation drive asked parents and students to donate soap on behalf of the charity, including hand soaps and dish soap. The drive collected a total of 838 soaps, helping to defray potentially thousands of dollars of expenses on these items.
"A bar of soap is a small thing," says Laird, "It's something we often take for granted. But little things can add up to big expenses, especially for a charity that operates on a global scale."
There are 368 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries, as well as 50 Ronald McDonald Mobiles in nine countries. The Emler donation drive focused on supporting regional Ronald McDonald Houses in states where Emler operates one or more of its swimming schools. These included Texas, California, Oregon, Nevada, Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, Virginia and Massachusetts. All Emler Swim School brands took part, including Kings Swim Academy, SwimWest, SwimKids, Little Flippers, All Star Swim Academy, Stony Creek Swim Center and Planet Gymnastics.
Laird says the donation drive also matched Emler's philosophy of keeping kids clean, safe and healthy.
